How is a blood transfusion done?
The blood transfusion process is similar to the human practice: a donor takes blood from an animal, which then undergoes appropriate tests and processing. We carry out a thorough clinical examination, check clinical blood analysis (erythrocytes, hemoglobin, hematocrit, leukocytes, platelets), biochemical parameters, renal profile (creatinine, urea), diagnose dogs for blood parasites: babesiosis and microfilaria, perform a heartofilariasis test for dogs, for cats for immunodeficiency and leukemia, we perform auscultation for the presence of noises, if necessary, perform an echocardiogram and necessarily perform a blood clot test.

Donor program: how does it work?
The clinic actively supports the donation program, attracting healthy animals that can help others. Donors must be clinically healthy animals from 1 to 7 years old, weighing from 4 kg for cats and from 25 kg+ for dogs. Donors must be vaccinated and treated for internal and external parasites. During the period of donation, the animal must not be pregnant or after 2 months after giving birth. Such a program not only makes it possible to obtain donated blood quickly, but also helps maintain adequate supplies for emergencies.
