Endosurgery
Animal endosurgery is a branch of veterinary medicine that includes the use of endoscopic methods for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in animals. Endoscopy is a procedure that uses an endoscope (a flexible tube with a camera and LEDs on the end) that is inserted into an organ or body cavity of an animal through a small incision or natural opening.
Endosurgery can be used to treat a variety of diseases in animals, such as gastrointestinal diseases, respiratory diseases, urological diseases and others. It allows for surgical interventions with less tissue trauma, which reduces recovery time after surgery and the risk of complications.
The examination of the animal before the endoscopy may include a physical examination, blood tests and other tests. After the endoscopy, the doctor makes a diagnosis and develops a treatment plan for the animal.
During endosurgery, our doctors use endoscopic techniques to perform surgical procedures in the middle of the animal's body through a small incision. Such operations allow you to reduce trauma for your pet and shorten rehabilitation time. Here are some examples of operations we perform using endoscopes:
– Laparoscopy: surgery on the organs of the abdominal cavity, for example, sterilization, gastroectomy (removal of the stomach), hepatectomy (removal of part of the liver) and others.
- Thoracoscopy: surgery on the organs of the chest cavity, for example, removal of tumors, drainage of the chest cavity, and others.
- Retroscopy: surgery on the organs of the pelvic cavity, for example, sterilization, removal of stones from the urinary bladder, and others.
- Arthroscopy: surgery on joints, for example, cartilage repair, treatment of ligament tears, and others.
In addition, we also use the endoscopic technique to diagnose diseases, for example, to detect the presence of tumors, birth defects and other pathologies.
