3D Modeling
3D laboratory of the Genesis Veterinary Hospital
Head of Genesis 3D laboratory, chief developer and bioengineer Kyrylo Ihorovych Mylovanov, veterinarian, surgeon, orthopedist, 3D bioengineer.
Modern technologies of 3D scanning, design and printing, which improve surgery.
What does our laboratory do?
– development and printing of anatomical models of bones with normal anatomy for demonstration
- printing of bone pathologies for surgery planning
– design of surgical navigation guides (guides)
– design of individual implants and anatomical titanium plates
- manufacture of orthotic and prosthetic limb products
Preoperative planning.
Based on a CT scan, we print a 3D model of any bone deformity, fracture, complex clinical case that requires an individual approach. Such a model will help to choose the right tactics of surgical treatment, practice the operation process and think about the nuances of the operation in advance.
Surgical guides (guides).
The surgical guide is a template for surgical access, which is made according to the anatomical structure of the bone, individually according to the CT scan. As a bioengineer, I process scan files on specialized software, design the geometry of the guide for the specific surgical case.
The surgical guide helps to make an accurate bone cut at a pre-calculated angle. Thanks to this, the quality and speed of the surgery itself is significantly accelerated.
Individual anatomical plates or limb implants made of titanium alloy certified in medicine and veterinary medicine Ti6Al4V Grade 23.
Printing custom titanium implants is a great way to help a patient with a unique clinical case. If a serial variant of a plate or implant for a specific replacement area is not suitable for the patient or its presence does not replace the entire bone defect, individual anatomical plates made of titanium alloy will be an effective solution for the treatment of pathology.
The most modern approach to the prosthetics of animal limbs is an individual biointegrated titanium implant with a changeable soft platform (boot).
3D printed orthoses and exoprostheses.
The manufacture of individual orthoses is possible due to 3D printing according to individual measurements of limbs or body parts. Printing is done with soft types of plastic Elastan / Flex / Nylon. For these purposes, we use our own FlyingBear Ghost 5 3D printer.
Manufacturing of hard permanent external limb prostheses/ortheses.
I prescribe this method of treatment of joint pathologies for long-term use to animals with a body weight of 10 kg and above. The production method consists in removing a cast of the limb on a polymer bandage, which quickly hardens and takes an anatomical shape. Next, this mold is sent to the orthotics workshop for the production of the final version.
Refinement of the orthopedic lining and fixation belts.
In order to clarify which method of treatment is necessary in this case, we invite you to an orthopedic examination.
